My marathon story is short....unlike the race!  This is my third Motorola and every year I try to run faster, or smarter or better. Last year I took 15 minutes off my first years race. This year I was not any faster than last year but I wasn't any slower.  I contribute having the exact same time to that terrible head wind every time we ran west.  But this year was special because I felt mentally strong at the end....no wall, no whining or mental games about "Just quit, nobody cares" that I've heard in my head from mile 18 the first year and mile 21 the second year.  This year it was just a solid feeling of put one foot in front of the other and it will get done.  I can't believe how often I have used the analogy of running a race to my life's journey in the past year. Accomplishing this marathon with the mental strength I had and the loving support of friends and family is such a rush....What will I gain from next years race?
